By her third season, she led the team to a 23-10 record, securing their first NCAA Tournament berth in a decade. Under her guidance, Vanderbilt achieved a notable 11-win improvement from the previous season and finished sixth in the SEC, defying preseason expectations. Ralph’s emphasis on a gritty, defensive approach resulted in the Commodores ranking third in the SEC for steals per game, averaging 10.2.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Kim Caldwell, on the other hand, took the helm of the Tennessee Lady Volunteers in April 2024, following a successful tenure at Marshall. In her inaugural season at Marshall, she led the team to both the Sun Belt Conference regular season and tournament titles, earning the Sun Belt Coach of the Year award. Caldwell’s coaching style is characterized by a fast-paced offense and relentless defensive pressure, strategies that have yielded immediate results. At Tennessee, she has continued this momentum, guiding the Lady Vols to a strong 7-0 start in the 2024 season.
