Matthew Knies admitted he was a little nervous leading up to the NHL trade deadline this past Friday. As a young player with the Toronto Maple Leafs, he understood that trade rumors are part of the business, but that didn\u2019t make the uncertainty any easier. The 21-year-old forward has been a key piece of the Leafs’ lineup this season, bringing energy, skill, and physicality to the team.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Despite the nerves, Knies was relieved to remain with Toronto, where he continues to develop his game. He acknowledged that while trades can be out of a player\u2019s control, he tried to stay focused on his performance on the ice. \u201cObviously, it\u2019s something you think about, but at the end of the day, I just try to play my game and not worry too much,\u201d Knies said.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

With the deadline behind him, Knies can now fully concentrate on helping the Leafs in their playoff push. His strong rookie season has proven his value, and he remains a promising piece of Toronto\u2019s future. Now, with the uncertainty gone, Knies is eager to keep growing as a player and contribute to the team\u2019s success down the stretch.<\/p>\n\n
