**Austin Cindric Penalized for Intentional Wreck at COTA**<\/p>\n

Following the race at Circuit of The Americas (COTA), Austin Cindric, driver of the No. 2 Team Penske Ford, was penalized for intentionally wrecking Ty Dillon. NASCAR fined Cindric $50,000 and docked him 50 driver points, dropping him from 11th to 35th in the standings. After the Daytona 500, Chase Briscoe’s No. 19 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota was found to have a modified spoiler during post-race inspection. As a result, Briscoe was penalized 100 driver points and 10 playoff points. The team was fined $100,000 and deducted 100 owner points, with crew chief James Small suspended for four races. In the Xfinity Series race at Phoenix Raceway, two Joe Gibbs Racing teams faced penalties for lug-nut infractions. Both the No. 20 Toyota driven by Brandon Jones and the No. 18 Toyota driven by William Sawalich were found with one unsecured lug nut each during post-race inspection.
