Penn State head coach James Franklin has recently made headlines with a series of impactful social media messages directed at Nittany Lions fans. In January 2025, following the team’s Fiesta Bowl victory over Boise State, Franklin emphasized the importance of being present. He addressed players using their phones in the locker room, urging them to cherish the moment and highlighting that former players would “die to be back in our locker room.”<\/p>\n

Earlier, in December 2024, Franklin’s passionate response to a fan’s comment before the Maryland game went viral. When a supporter mentioned looking forward to the Big Ten championship in Indianapolis, Franklin retorted, “Focus on fing Maryland, lock the f in.” This intense focus on the immediate task resonated with many and was leveraged by Penn State’s NIL collective, Happy Valley United, to raise funds by selling themed apparel.<\/p>\n
