With Tallyn Da Silva emerging as one of the NRL\u2019s most exciting young hookers, the Wests Tigers face a major decision: should they let veteran Apisai Koroisau go to ensure Da Silva stays long-term?<\/p>\n

Koroisau, the club captain and a premiership-winner, brings experience, leadership, and elite service out of dummy-half. But at 31, and on significant money, his value may soon be outweighed by Da Silva\u2019s potential. The 19-year-old junior has already shown poise, speed, and game awareness beyond his years, and rivals are circling with interest.\"\"<\/p>\n

Holding both may prove financially difficult for a rebuilding Tigers side. If they double down on youth and give Da Silva the No.9 jersey full-time, it could accelerate their long-term development. However, parting with a leader like Api would come at a short-term cost\u2014on and off the field.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a classic rebuild dilemma: stick with proven class or back the future star. Given where the Tigers are on the ladder and in their squad evolution, prioritising Da Silva might be the right call. But they must manage it carefully\u2014losing Api too soon without the right mentoring bridge could risk stunting Tallyn\u2019s rise. Balance is key.<\/p>\n\n
