LUBBOCK – Texas Tech head coach Grant McCasland has officially announced the signing of transfer forward LeJuan Watts, adding another strong presence to the Red Raiders’ frontcourt. Watts, a 6-foot-8, 225-pound forward, transfers from Southern Illinois, where he averaged 10.4 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks per game during the 2024-25 season. Known for his defensive versatility and high motor, Watts brings valuable experience and toughness to the Texas Tech roster.

“We’re excited to welcome LeJuan to the Red Raider family,” McCasland said. “He plays with intensity, rebounds at a high level, and fits our culture both on and off the court.”

Watts will have one year of eligibility remaining and is expected to contribute immediately. His ability to guard multiple positions and impact games without needing a high volume of touches makes him an ideal fit in McCasland’s system, which emphasizes defense, grit, and team-oriented basketball.

Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, Watts was a standout in the Missouri Valley Conference and was praised for his leadership and work ethic. His addition strengthens Texas Tech’s frontcourt depth heading into the upcoming season.
