Unfortunate incidence as Head Coach Shane Beamer reality on transfer Target takes Extreme measures for Gamecocks… could this be beginning of their disaster?

Things are getting tricky in Columbia as South Carolina head coach Shane Beamer faces a frustrating running back dilemma — not because of poor performance, but due to NCAA red tape. The issue centers on Rahsul Faison, a transfer from Utah State who ran for over 1,100 yards and was expected to be a key offensive piece in 2025. Beamer and the Gamecocks saw him as a starter, not just roster depth. But months after his January arrival, Faison’s eligibility is still in limbo, and Beamer is clearly frustrated.

The hold-up stems from how the NCAA is counting Faison’s eligibility timeline. Back in 2019, Faison grayshirted at Marshall — he didn’t play or even suit up — yet the NCAA started his eligibility clock anyway. Since then, he had inactive years in 2020 and 2021, played one season at junior college in 2022, and two years at Utah State. That adds up to only three actual seasons of football, yet the NCAA may rule him out of eligibility. The logic doesn’t add up, and Beamer is left waiting while a potentially major piece of his offense remains in NCAA purgatory. It’s a bureaucratic mess that’s costing South Carolina on the field.
