LSU Tigers linebacker Harold Perkins Jr. has reportedly declined a $7.7 million Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) offer from the University of Tennessee, choosing to remain with LSU for the 2025 season. The offer, which was allegedly double his current NIL deal, was considered a tampering attempt as Perkins had not entered the transfer portal.
Perkins, who suffered a torn ACL during the 2024 season, announced his decision to return to LSU in December 2024. In his first two seasons with the Tigers, he amassed 146 tackles, 13 sacks, six forced fumbles, two interceptions, and four pass breakups. Despite being eligible for the 2025 NFL Draft, Perkins chose to continue his college career at LSU.
His commitment to LSU, despite lucrative offers elsewhere, underscores his dedication to the program and his desire to finish what he started in Baton Rouge.
