As part of NASCAR’s “600 Miles of Remembrance” initiative, Byron’s car honored U.S. Army Sgt. 1st Class Ronald A. Grider, a Purple Heart recipient and Liberty University online student who was killed in action in 2010. Grider’s name was prominently displayed on the windshield banner, paying tribute to his service and sacrifice .
Byron delivered a commendable performance during the race, securing a third-place finish. He led laps and clinched his first stage win of the season before the event was shortened due to inclement weather .
