Corey Heim delivers message to Layne Riggs after NASCAR Truck race at North Wilkesboro Speedway.

In a dramatic conclusion to the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at North Wilkesboro Speedway, Corey Heim confronted Layne Riggs over a contentious final-lap incident that cost Heim a potential victory.

Heim had dominated the race, leading 162 of the 255 laps. However, during the overtime restart, Riggs made an aggressive move, diving low into Turn 1. This maneuver resulted in contact that sent Heim spinning, allowing Chandler Smith to seize the lead and ultimately win the race. Riggs finished second, while Heim dropped to 17th place.

Post-race, a visibly frustrated Heim approached Riggs on pit road and delivered a stern message: “You’re racing like a [expletive] idiot. Calm down or else someone’s going to take care of you.” Heim further criticized Riggs’ tactics, labeling them as “scum racing,” and expressed his disappointment over being “used up” by Riggs despite having raced him cleanly in the past.

Riggs defended his actions, stating that he saw an opportunity when Heim got loose in Turn 3 and attempted a slide job, which unfortunately didn’t succeed. He emphasized the competitive nature of short-track racing and his commitment to achieving the best results for his team.

The incident has intensified the rivalry between Heim and Riggs, adding another chapter to their competitive history in the Truck Series.
