Breaking News: A day after finishing 2nd in All-Star Race, Joey Logano takes back critical comments of how Christopher Bell raced him for the win…
A day after a thrilling All-Star Race at North Wilkesboro Speedway, Joey Logano is stepping back from his sharp post-race remarks about Christopher Bell. Logano, who finished second behind Bell, had initially expressed frustration over what he described as “overly aggressive” tactics by the Joe Gibbs Racing driver in the closing laps of the $1 million exhibition.

However, in a statement released Monday morning, Logano clarified his comments and acknowledged the intensity of the race. “In the heat of the moment, emotions run high,” Logano said. “Christopher raced hard, and that’s what fans come to see. Looking back, I probably overreacted. He earned that win.”
The All-Star Race was one of the most action-packed in recent memory, with Logano and Bell trading the lead multiple times. The final 15 laps saw Bell make a decisive move on the inside, nudging Logano just enough to take the top spot and hold it until the checkered flag. While the move drew mixed reactions from fans and analysts, it was deemed clean by NASCAR officials.
Logano’s initial criticism came minutes after the race when he called Bell’s move “unnecessary” and “borderline dirty.” But after reviewing footage and speaking with his team, the Team Penske driver appeared ready to move on. “It’s part of short-track racing,” Logano added. “We’re all out there trying to win.”
Christopher Bell, for his part, responded with class. “I have a lot of respect for Joey. We were racing hard. I’m glad we could put on a show for the fans.”
With the regular season resuming next weekend, both drivers will look to carry momentum forward — and perhaps leave the fireworks of North Wilkesboro behind.
