2026 Recruit Matt Ludwig Commits to Michigan, Choosing Wolverines Over Texas Tech, Georgia, and Notre Dame……

Highly touted 2026 recruit Matt Ludwig has officially committed to the University of Michigan, ending months of speculation surrounding his college decision. The four-star prospect chose the Wolverines over strong offers from Texas Tech, Georgia, and Notre Dame, citing Michigan’s winning culture, elite development program, and academic prestige as key factors.

A versatile athlete from Ohio, Ludwig has been on the radar of major programs thanks to his explosive athleticism, high football IQ, and leadership qualities. At 6-foot-2 and 200 pounds, he’s projected to play safety or hybrid linebacker at the next level, fitting perfectly into Michigan’s aggressive defensive scheme.

“Michigan felt like home from the beginning,” Ludwig said during his announcement. “The coaches believe in me, and I know I’ll be pushed to reach my full potential—both on and off the field.”

Ludwig becomes one of the highest-ranked recruits in Michigan’s 2026 class and is expected to play a pivotal role in maintaining the Wolverines’ defensive dominance under head coach Sherrone Moore. His commitment gives Michigan a key edge in building momentum on the recruiting trail as they continue to chase another Big Ten title and College Football Playoff berth.
