The Nuggets’ shooting problems might be immediately resolved by a possible trade with a competitor….

If the Denver Nuggets are struggling with shooting efficiency or depth, a strategic trade with a competitor could indeed provide an immediate boost—especially if they acquire a high-percentage shooter or a versatile wing who can stretch the floor.

The Denver Nuggets have the talent to compete for a title, but recent shooting inconsistencies are threatening their postseason hopes. While Nikola Jokić remains one of the most efficient players in the league, Denver’s perimeter shooting has cooled off significantly, particularly from the bench. A carefully targeted trade—possibly with an underperforming team looking to rebuild—could offer a quick fix.

A potential trade partner could be a team like the Brooklyn Nets, who might be willing to part with a sharpshooter like Cam Johnson or Dorian Finney-Smith for draft capital or a younger player. Alternatively, the Trail Blazers or Wizards, both deep in rebuild mode, might entertain offers for players like Malcolm Brogdon or Corey Kispert. These are players who can immediately improve Denver’s shooting splits and take pressure off Jokić and Jamal Murray.

Crucially, the Nuggets need someone who can not only hit open threes but also keep defenses honest in the playoffs. Their current roster has moments of brilliance, but too often relies on hot streaks rather than consistency.

GM Calvin Booth may hesitate to break up the championship core, but adding one reliable shooter without disrupting chemistry could be the difference between another early exit and a deep playoff run. The West is stacked—Denver can’t afford to lag behind when it comes to floor spacing and scoring depth.

A smart, surgical move before the trade deadline might be all the Nuggets need to get back on track.
