Exclusive: To empower youngsters with intellectual and developmental disabilities, coach Cameron Ciraldo launches the “A Hope Rising Foundation”

The  foundation’s mission is clear: to create opportunities for children with physical, intellectual, or developmental challenges to thrive both on and off the field. Drawing from his own experiences as a coach and mentor, Ciraldo aims to build programs that instill confidence, encourage independence, and foster a sense of belonging.

“I’ve seen firsthand how sport can transform lives,” Ciraldo said at the launch event in Sydney. “Every child deserves the chance to feel valued, to dream big, and to be supported in reaching their potential. *A Hope Rising* is about making that a reality.”

The foundation will initially focus on inclusive sports clinics, pairing children with trained coaches and volunteers, including professional athletes. In addition to sport-based activities, it will offer educational workshops, mental health resources, and family support services—ensuring a holistic approach to empowerment.

Ciraldo’s passion project has already garnered support from NRL clubs, corporate sponsors, and community leaders. His Bulldogs squad has pledged time and resources, with several players volunteering for upcoming clinics and fundraising events.

The official website for *A Hope Rising Foundation* goes live this week, with donation portals, event calendars, and volunteer sign-ups already in high demand.

As Ciraldo puts it, “This is more than a charity. It’s a movement for hope, inclusion, and a future where every child, no matter their ability, has the chance to rise.”
