Senior Pathways Wrap Round 16: Bulldogs Break Streak Against Raiders

The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs have snapped a three-game losing streak with a gritty 28-20 win over the Canberra Raiders in Round 16 of the NSW Cup at Belmore Sports Ground. In a tightly contested battle, the Bulldogs showed resilience and structure, capitalising on key Raiders errors to seal the win.

The Raiders started strong, with Jed Stuart and Brad Morkos combining for an early try that gave Canberra momentum. But the Bulldogs hit back quickly, with winger Eli Clark grabbing a double and fullback Joash Papalii creating havoc with his kick returns. Despite the Raiders regaining the lead briefly in the second half through a powerful solo try by Hohepa Puru, the Bulldogs refused to go away.

Canterbury’s forward pack laid the platform late in the match, allowing hooker Ryan Gray to dart over from dummy-half to secure the victory. The Raiders’ ill-discipline and handling errors proved costly, ending their two-game winning streak.

Despite the loss, the Raiders remain in the top eight, but with several teams breathing down their neck, they’ll need a sharp bounce-back performance in Round 17. For the Bulldogs, the win boosts their confidence and keeps their finals hopes alive.
