Blockbuster Deal: Former Bulldog Eric Stokes Joins the Raiders
In a major offseason coup, the Las Vegas Raiders have signed former Georgia Bulldogs star and NFL cornerback Eric Stokes in a move designed to strengthen their secondary ahead of the 2025 season. Stokes, who spent the last four seasons with the Green Bay Packers, joins the Raiders on a one-year, \$4 million “prove-it” deal, bringing speed, agility, and proven SEC pedigree to the Silver and Black.
Drafted in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft, Stokes was a standout at Georgia, earning First-Team All-SEC honors in 2020. Known for his coverage skills and athleticism, he recorded over 128 tackles and 14 pass breakups in the 2024 season, showing he’s still at the top of his game.
This signing continues the Raiders’ trend of targeting former Georgia Bulldogs, following their selection of tight end Brock Bowers earlier in the year. Under new head coach Pete Carroll, the Raiders appear focused on building a tough, fast, and versatile defense.
