Raiders Bolster Defense with Signing of Veteran Linebacker Germaine Pratt

The Las Vegas Raiders have made another significant addition to their defense, signing veteran linebacker Germaine Pratt to a one-year deal worth up to \$4.78 million, including incentives. The move comes just a day after Pratt was released by the Cincinnati Bengals, where he spent six productive seasons.

Pratt, 28, brings leadership and experience to a retooled Raiders linebacker group. He started 88 of 96 career games for the Bengals, amassing 616 total tackles, seven interceptions, and several forced and recovered fumbles. In 2024 alone, Pratt posted a career-high 143 tackles, reinforcing his reputation as a consistent and reliable defensive presence.

With key departures like Robert Spillane and Divine Deablo in free agency, the Raiders have responded swiftly—adding not only Pratt, but also veterans Elandon Roberts and Devin White, both on one-year deals. Under new head coach Pete Carroll and defensive coordinator Patrick Graham, the Raiders are crafting a unit that blends veteran savvy with scheme versatility.

Fan reaction to the signing has been overwhelmingly positive, with polls showing over 95% approval. Whether as a starter or rotational contributor, Pratt’s addition gives the Raiders a much-needed boost as they aim to compete in the fiercely contested AFC West.
