Horsburgh admits he wanted to leave Raiders “a few times”….
Corey Horsburgh has admitted he considered leaving the Canberra Raiders “a few times” during his NRL career. The fiery forward opened up about his emotional struggles and the challenges he’s faced since joining the club in 2019. Known for his passionate on-field persona, Horsburgh said he had moments where homesickness and injuries made him question his future with the Green Machine.

“There were times when I thought about leaving,” he revealed. “I wasn’t in the best headspace, and being away from home made it hard. But I stuck it out and I’m proud I did.”
Despite the rough patches, Horsburgh has become a fan favourite and a key figure in the Raiders’ forward pack. He credited his teammates and the club’s support staff for helping him stay focused and grow both on and off the field. Now more committed than ever, he’s determined to repay the faith shown in him.
His honesty reflects a growing trend in the NRL of players speaking openly about mental health and the pressures of professional sport — a step toward creating a more supportive culture in rugby league.
