DONE DEAL: The Blockbuster Trade Between the North Carolina Tar Heels and the Duke Blue Devils Is Official…..

In an unprecedented move that has shocked the college basketball world, the North Carolina Tar Heels and the Duke Blue Devils have completed a blockbuster player trade — the first of its kind under new NCAA athlete mobility guidelines.

UNC will send junior guard *RJ Davis* and freshman forward *Elliot Cadeau* to Duke in exchange for sophomore forward *Mark Mitchell* and senior guard *Jeremy Roach*. The move comes after both programs missed out on the Final Four last season and are looking to shake things up ahead of a highly anticipated 2025–26 campaign.

Tar Heels head coach *Hubert Davis* called the move “difficult but necessary,” emphasizing the need for leadership and size in the frontcourt. “Mark brings us that defensive edge we’ve been missing,” Davis said. “And Jeremy’s experience in big moments speaks for itself.”

Meanwhile, *Jon Scheyer*, head coach at Duke, praised the arrival of Davis and Cadeau. “RJ is a proven scorer and Cadeau has incredible vision. They fit right into our system.”

While traditionalists may balk, fans on both sides can agree — the rivalry just got even more intense.

The countdown to the next UNC-Duke matchup begins now.
