Done Deal: The Blockbuster Trade Between the Collingwood Football Club and Carlton Is Official

AFL fans have been left stunned as a blockbuster trade between arch-rivals Collingwood and Carlton was made official this morning. In a bold move, Collingwood has traded key forward Brody Mihocek and a future second-round pick to Carlton in exchange for midfield star Adam Cerra and a third-round selection.

The deal, which has been quietly negotiated over the past fortnight, brings to an end weeks of speculation surrounding Cerra’s future at Ikon Park. With Carlton looking to add more firepower up forward and Collingwood seeking midfield depth following Taylor Adams’ departure last season, the trade appears mutually beneficial on paper.

Collingwood list manager Graham Wright described the trade as “strategic and forward-looking,” while Carlton’s head of football Brad Lloyd said the Blues were “thrilled to bring in a proven goal-kicker in Mihocek.”

Both clubs are set to hold media conferences later today to address the trade and their plans for the upcoming 2026 season. Fans of both sides are already debating which club has come out on top in a deal that few saw coming between two of the most bitter rivals in the AFL.

The next Carlton-Collingwood clash just got a whole lot spicier.
