CONFIRMED: manly sea eagles are bringing him back……

BROOKVALE, July 9, 2025** – The Manly Warringah Sea Eagles have officially confirmed the return of front-rower Matt Lodge, re-signing him on a train-and-trial deal for the remainder of the 2025 NRL season.

Lodge, 29, returns to Brookvale after recovering from a series of serious injuries, including a torn ACL and bicep sustained late last year. The veteran prop had previously played for Manly during the 2023 and 2024 seasons before being released earlier this year due to salary cap pressures and ongoing rehab.

Head coach Anthony Seibold expressed his confidence in Lodge’s value to the squad. *“Matt’s a tough, experienced campaigner. We know what he brings on and off the field,”* Seibold said. *“He’s worked hard to get back to full fitness, and we’re excited to see him back in Sea Eagles colours.”*

Lodge will initially link up with Manly’s NSW Cup side, with a view to forcing his way back into the NRL lineup over the coming weeks. Known for his aggressive style and leadership in the middle, his return comes as the Sea Eagles battle a string of injuries to their forward pack.

I’ve still got a lot to give,”* Lodge said. Brookie’s always felt like home.”
