A privilege to wear the jersey: Borthwick backs debutantes ahead of Raiders NRLW opener….

Canberra Raiders NRLW coach Darrin Borthwick has thrown his full support behind the club’s new-look squad, highlighting the pride and passion his debutantes bring ahead of their season opener. With several fresh faces set to make their first appearance in the green jersey, Borthwick said the team’s energy and commitment have been evident throughout pre-season.

“This jersey means something,” Borthwick stated. “For these young women to get their shot, it’s not just about talent — it’s about the attitude they’ve shown since day one.”

Among the anticipated debutantes are junior stars and emerging talents from feeder competitions, each earning praise for their work ethic and enthusiasm. The Raiders are counting on a strong start to the 2025 NRLW campaign, and Borthwick believes the blend of youth and leadership gives them every chance to make a statement.

“They’ve earned this,” Borthwick added. “And they’ll do the jersey proud.”

The Raiders kick off their season this weekend, hoping to build on last year’s promising debut in the competition.
