Uniting the Next Generation: Raiders launch 2025 Indigenous Jersey….
The 2015 Indigenous Jersey was officially unveiled at Cuz Boxing in Belconnen—a venue recognised for supporting Indigenous youth through accessible programs.

Key Indigenous players—including Sebastian Kris, Xavier Savage, Jamal Fogarty, Vena Patuki‑Case, Grace Kemp, Relna Wuruki‑Hosea—participated in the launch, alongside captain Joe Tapine and family, celebrating culture and community together.
The design, by Ngunnawal, Bundjalung, and Kamilaroi woman Shaenice Miles, was developed collaboratively with Indigenous players to reflect cultural authenticity.
The jersey is inspired by the NAIDOC theme, “The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy.”
Front motifs include representations of Torres Strait Islander and Aboriginal cultural life: coconut nets, yarning circles, water, and ancestral symbolism.
Totems featured: shovel nose shark, dugong, crocodile, snake—reflecting the Wagadagam and Panay peoples linked to Seb Kris.
Family connections: Jamal Fogarty’s daughters’ handprints are placed behind a wedge‑tailed eagle (Mununjali and Ngunnawal totem); a bogong moth symbolizes Ngunnawal ceremonial culture.
Vena Patuki‑Case is honoured with a Goanna totem on the back, alongside a community circle representing Wiradjuri heritage and the team’s Indigenous representation.
A multicolored section around the lower left symbolizes reconciliation, bridging Indigenous and non‑Indigenous communities and sparking cultural dialogue.
Cuz Boxing was chosen not just as a venue but as a recognition of its role in supporting Indigenous youth and promoting community well-being.
The launch reflects the Raiders’ commitment to cultural celebration, reconciliation, and engaging the next generation through sport and community partnerships.
On Reddit, fans expressed support:
> “I like it. These guys … are spending their time promoting their culture and community.”
