Chelsea reject Borussia Dortmund bid for Carney Chukwuemeka…..

Chelsea have turned down an offer from Borussia Dortmund for promising midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka, reaffirming their commitment to the 20-year-old’s long-term future. The Bundesliga side, famed for developing young talents into global stars, were keen to bring him in this summer, but Chelsea made it clear he is not for sale.

Chukwuemeka, who joined the Blues from Aston Villa in 2022 for around £20 million, has endured an injury-hit spell at Stamford Bridge, limiting his appearances last season. Even so, club officials continue to view him as one of their brightest prospects and a key piece of their rebuilding project.

Sources close to the club suggest the decision reflects Chelsea’s broader strategy of protecting and investing in emerging talent rather than selling too early. Despite increased competition in midfield following recent signings, the plan remains to integrate Chukwuemeka into the first team gradually.

A loan move could still be considered to secure regular playing time, but a permanent departure has been ruled out. For now, Chelsea want Chukwuemeka to grow and establish himself in West London, resisting external interest and trusting in his potential to become a central figure for the future.
