Done Deal: The blockbuster trade between the Brisbane Broncos and the Melbourne storm is official….
Done deal: The Brisbane Broncos have pulled off a massive recruitment coup, signing Queensland Origin star Jeremiah Nanai from the North Queensland Cowboys on a four-year deal, reportedly worth $3.6 million — a move sure to turn heads at arch-rival Melbourne Storm.
Nanai, 22, was one of the most sought-after forwards on the open market, with both the Storm and Roosters heavily linked to the young second-rower. But the Broncos moved swiftly to secure his signature, signalling their intent to build a premiership-winning side around rising talent and Origin pedigree.
Broncos coach Kevin Walters said the club was “thrilled” to welcome Nanai to Red Hill, praising his explosive style and work ethic. “He’s a game-changer — and we know what he brings, especially in big moments. We believe he can help us bring another title back to Brisbane.”
The move is already being seen as a direct shot at the Melbourne Storm, who were hoping to bolster their own pack following the expected departure of Tui Kamikamica. The rivalry between the two clubs — born out of years of finals clashes — just got hotter.
Nanai will link up with the squad for pre-season training in November.
