Surprising Candidate Emerges as Seibold’s Potential Manly Successor…

A new and unexpected name has entered the frame as a potential successor to Anthony Seibold at the Manly Sea Eagles, with current Hull KR coach **Willie Peters** emerging as a serious contender.

While Seibold remains under contract and retains support from the club’s leadership, ongoing speculation about his long-term future has intensified. Reports suggest that some Manly players are pushing for a change in the coaching structure, potentially opening the door for a shake-up at the club. One option reportedly being considered is moving Seibold into a front-office role — a shift that could trigger the hunt for a new head coach.

Enter Willie Peters — a former NRL assistant coach who has found impressive success with Hull Kingston Rovers in the UK Super League. Under his leadership, Hull KR currently sits at the top of the ladder, with Peters boasting a winning percentage over 70%. His rapid rise in the coaching ranks has reportedly drawn interest from multiple NRL clubs, including Manly.

Hull KR CEO Paul Lakin confirmed interest in Peters from overseas but remains confident in keeping him at the club through his current deal, which runs until 2028. However, if Seibold’s position changes, Peters could quickly become a leading candidate for the Sea Eagles’ top job.
