I ate Ed Sheeran’s £20 pasta so you don’t have to — and I wish someone had warned me first.

The dish, served at his London pub Bertie Blossoms, sounded promising on paper: fresh pasta, rich tomato sauce, aged parmesan, and a drizzle of herb oil. For £20, expectations were understandably high. Unfortunately, the reality was a plate of disappointment.

The pasta itself was overcooked, hovering somewhere between al dente and mush. The tomato sauce lacked depth — tasting more like tinned tomatoes hastily reduced than a carefully crafted base. Any hint of garlic or seasoning was faint at best. Even the parmesan, usually a saving grace, was sparsely scattered and failed to rescue the dish.

Texture-wise, it was equally underwhelming. The sauce pooled awkwardly at the bottom, leaving the top layer dry and clumped together. For a pub linked to one of Britain’s biggest global stars, I expected comfort food elevated with care. Instead, it felt rushed and overpriced.

To be fair, the atmosphere was lively and the staff were friendly. But at £20, this pasta needed to be memorable for the right reasons — and sadly, it was unforgettable for all the wrong ones.
