Ex‑Duran Duran guitarist Andy Taylor, 62, who has been battling stage‑4 prostate cancer, revealed a remarkable personal experience after starting a new round of cutting‑edge treatment. Taylor told British media that following intensive therapy — which he said brought him from a bleak prognosis of end‑of‑life care to being asymptomatic and active again — he felt he had been “visited by an angel.”
The former band member, who was diagnosed with metastatic prostate cancer in 2018 and kept his condition private for years, previously reported that novel targeted therapy appeared to vastly improve his health, extending his life expectancy. After missing Duran Duran’s Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction due to his illness, Taylor described how his mindset shifted dramatically once the treatment began to show positive results. He said that the experience felt like a spiritual sign — characterising it as an “angel” visit that came at a time he was struggling with the emotional weight of his prognosis.
While Taylor’s comments about the angel have grabbed headlines, he also highlighted the role of innovative medical treatment in changing the course of his cancer journey.
