Quintana comes down to earth as Brewers drop third straight game, 6-2…..

Milwaukee Brewers rookie pitcher Carlos Quintana came back to earth on Saturday after an impressive start to his MLB career, allowing four earned runs over five innings in a 6-2 loss to the Chicago Cubs. The defeat marked the Brewers’ third consecutive loss, raising concerns as they struggle to maintain momentum in the NL Central race.

Quintana, who dazzled in his first two appearances, faced trouble early as the Cubs jumped on him with timely hits, including a two-run homer by Christopher Morel in the third inning. The Brewers’ offense couldn’t muster enough support, managing only two runs on six hits. Christian Yelich and Willy Adames each drove in a run, but Milwaukee failed to capitalize on several scoring opportunities.

Chicago starter Jameson Taillon held the Brewers in check through six strong innings, striking out seven and giving up just one run. The Cubs’ bullpen followed up with three solid innings to seal the win.

Manager Pat Murphy remained optimistic postgame, noting Quintana’s command issues were part of the learning curve. “He’s got good stuff—we’ll work through this,” Murphy said. With the loss, the Brewers slip to second place in the division, and they’ll look to snap the skid in Sunday’s series finale.
