Manly Sea Eagles Secure Queensland Rising Star on Three-Year Deal
The Manly Sea Eagles have secured one of the NRL’s brightest young talents, Lehi Hopoate, on a new three-year contract that will keep him at the club until the end of the 2027 season.
A proud Queenslander and Manly junior, Hopoate has made an impressive start to his NRL career since debuting in Round 12 last year against the Melbourne Storm. The 20-year-old has since played 14 first-grade games, displaying strong defensive work and attacking flair, and quickly earning the confidence of the Sea Eagles coaching staff.
The new deal will see Hopoate elevated to Manly’s Top 30 squad for the 2025 and 2026 seasons. His versatility across the backline and his high work rate have made him a valuable asset for the club’s long-term plans. Hopoate’s strong form also earned him selection for Tonga in the 2024 Pacific Championships, further underlining his rising status in the game.
Sea Eagles coach Anthony Seibold praised Hopoate’s development, saying the club is excited to invest in his future. “Lehi is a hard worker with great instincts. He represents the future of this club,” Seibold said.
With this signing, Manly continues its focus on youth development and long-term squad stability.
