“I’m fine being done,” Tony Stewart said, responding to the recent wave of criticism surrounding his involvement in NASCAR and the Eldora Speedway. “I’ve been in this sport a long time, and I’ve given it everything I have—on and off the track. But at some point, you have to do what’s right for yourself, your people, and your passions. Right now, that’s Eldora.”

The former NASCAR champion acknowledged the online backlash he’s received. “Yeah, I got a lot of bashing online, a lot of bashing on social media. People want to twist the narrative, say I’ve turned my back on NASCAR or that I’ve lost the drive. That’s not it at all. I just care more about preserving something I love—grassroots racing. Eldora matters to me. It’s where I can have a real impact.”

Stewart made it clear he’s not bitter, just ready for a new chapter. “I’m not angry. I’m not running from anything. I’m choosing to focus where my heart is. I’ve done what I set out to do in NASCAR. Now it’s time to build something lasting at Eldora for the next generation of racers. That’s where my energy’s going.”
