Legacy in Motion as Jed Stuart makes his debut moment igniting Raiders roster and giving hope to…….

In a script straight out of a sports fairytale, 22-year-old Jed Stuart delivered a dream debut for the Canberra Raiders, scoring a try just 18 minutes into his first NRL match on June 20. But what made the moment truly unforgettable was who handed him the jersey—his father, Raiders coach and club legend Ricky Stuart.

The Round 16 clash against the Wests Tigers wasn’t just another game. It was the continuation of a legacy that began 37 years ago when Ricky made his own debut—also in Round 16. For father and son, the symmetry was powerful. For the fans, it was magic.

Jed, who has toiled for years in the NSW Cup, proved he belonged on the big stage. There were murmurs about nepotism, but one try, seven tackles, and a calm presence on the wing silenced all doubts. Ricky admitted it was the “toughest week of  coaching career,” wanting only for his son to hold his own.

The emotional scenes that followed—Ricky’s embrace, teammates rallying—resonated with fans and commentators alike. “You couldn’t script it better,” said Fox League’s Yvonne Sampson.

Jed Stuart’s debut wasn’t just a milestone—it was the birth of a new chapter in Raiders history, marked by passion, pride, and generational talent.
