**NEWS FLASH: Sydney Roosters Finally Sign Free Agent Star**

In a major coup for the Sydney Roosters, the club has officially signed highly sought-after free agent Luke Thompson, ending weeks of speculation and fierce competition from rival NRL clubs. The 29-year-old English international prop, formerly with the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs, brings a wealth of experience and power to the Roosters’ forward pack.

The deal, reportedly a two-year contract, was confirmed this morning by Roosters CEO Joe Kelly, who praised Thompson’s professionalism and on-field leadership. “Luke is a proven competitor at both NRL and international level. We believe he will bring toughness, depth, and maturity to our squad as we push for another premiership,” Kelly said.

Thompson, who returned to full fitness this year after a challenging injury run, said he was thrilled to join one of the league’s most successful clubs. “It’s a great opportunity to be part of a winning culture. I’m ready to get stuck in and do my job for the team,” he stated.

With the Roosters struggling with forward depth due to injuries, Thompson’s arrival couldn’t be more timely. Fans will be eager to see the impact he’ll have when he pulls on the tri-colours for the first time in the comin

g weeks.
