NRL News: Sezer Happy to Hand Back Hooking Role for Warriors Clash

Canberra Raiders veteran Aidan Sezer says he’s more than happy to return to the halves for their clash against the New Zealand Warriors, handing back the makeshift hooking duties he’s taken on in recent weeks. With the return of regular hooker Zac Woolford, Sezer is set to resume his preferred playmaking role alongside Kaeo Weekes.

“I was just doing my job for the team, but I’m glad to be back in the halves,” Sezer said. “That’s where I can best contribute.”

Sezer’s leadership and adaptability have been vital during Canberra’s injury crisis, but coach Ricky Stuart is confident the shift will bring more stability and structure to the spine. The Raiders are looking to bounce back after a mixed run of form and will need Sezer firing on all cylinders to challenge the fast-finishing Warriors.

Sezer’s experience and composure could prove crucial in what’s shaping up to be a high-stakes mid-season encounter as both teams fight for a top-eight finish in the NRL ladder.
