Ricky Stuart launches stunning defence of Kyle Flanagan….
Canberra Raiders coach Ricky Stuart has launched a passionate defence of Kyle Flanagan amid growing criticism of the playmaker’s form. Speaking after the Raiders’ 28-20 win over the Dragons, Stuart hit out at pundits and fans who he believes have unfairly targeted Flanagan since his move to the nation’s capital.

“People have short memories. Kyle’s a tough kid. He’s doing exactly what I’ve asked of him,” Stuart said. “He cops it more than most, but I’ll keep picking him because he’s selfless and committed.”
Flanagan, who joined the Raiders this season after stints at the Sharks, Roosters and Bulldogs, has struggled to find consistency but played a key role in Canberra’s latest victory. Stuart pointed to his defensive effort and game management as key reasons for his inclusion.
“I don’t care what people outside say,” Stuart added. “Inside this club, we back him.”
With injuries and Origin absences stretching Canberra’s depth, Stuart’s public backing could be a turning point in Flanagan’s campaign.
