Queensland Maroons forward Zac Hosking has thrown his full support behind Josh Papalii’s potential State of Origin return, labelling him “the perfect guy to have in a decider.” With Game III looming as the series decider, Hosking praised Papalii’s leadership, toughness, and experience as crucial assets for a high-stakes clash.
“He’s been there, done it all. When the pressure’s on, you want someone like Papa next to you,” Hosking said. “He leads with his actions and gives the younger boys confidence.”
Papalii, a veteran of 23 Origin matches, hasn’t featured in the 2024 series so far but is reportedly in the mix for a recall following Queensland’s Game II defeat. With the Maroons aiming to close out the series on a high, the inclusion of a proven enforcer like Papalii could be a game-changer.
