TRENDING NEWS: “I Will Leave For Him To Play” Canberra raiders Star Confirm He Will Leave If he Return…..

Canberra Raiders halfback Jamal Fogarty has officially confirmed that he will leave the Raiders at the end of the 2025 season to join the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles, even if Canberra wanted him back. Fogarty — a key playmaker since joining Canberra in 2022 — has signed a three-year deal with Manly, reportedly worth around $2 million, to replace departing legend Daly Cherry-Evans in the halfback role from 2026.

The 31-year-old informed Raiders coach Ricky Stuart of his decision after weeks of negotiations, making it clear he wouldn’t remain if Canberra couldn’t match the terms and guarantee his future role. Canberra reportedly offered an extension, but Fogarty opted for the stability and financial security of the Sea Eagles’ offer.

In breaking his silence on the move, Fogarty admitted he was “pretty gutted” to be leaving the Raiders and appreciated his time in Canberra, praising teammates and fans alike. He stressed that family considerations and career longevity played major roles in his decision.

His departure leaves a leadership and playmaking gap for the Raiders in 2026, forcing Canberra to plan for future recruitment or promote from within as they look to maintain their finals aspirations.
