Jay Weinberg has opened up about the shocking way his time with Slipknot came to an end, revealing he was completely blindsided by the decision. After returning home from what would unknowingly be his final show with the band, Weinberg said he received a phone call informing him that his contract would not be renewed at the end of the year. The news hit him hard, especially as he had been planning to undergo hip surgery during a scheduled break in touring.
Describing the moment, he admitted that his “world just kind of bottomed out,” highlighting how sudden and unexpected the decision felt. He also reflected on the atmosphere within the band leading up to his departure, calling the year “extraordinarily tense.” While he didn’t point fingers directly, Weinberg suggested he may have been made a scapegoat for underlying issues within the group.
Looking back on his decade-long journey, Weinberg expressed deep disappointment. He emphasized that Slipknot had been his singular focus for ten years, saying he dedicated himself بالكامل to the band in every possible way. Despite that commitment, he was left without a clear explanation—only being told it was a “creative decision” and that he was no longer their drummer.
