Breaking News: Trevor Linden Returns as Vancouver Canucks Head Coach

In a stunning move that has electrified the hockey world, the Vancouver Canucks have announced the return of franchise legend Trevor Linden—this time behind the bench as head coach. The team made the announcement early Tuesday morning, sparking widespread excitement among fans and analysts alike.

Linden, 54, previously served as Canucks president of hockey operations from 2014 to 2018. While he’s never coached at the NHL level, his deep ties to the organization and respected leadership history made him a compelling choice. The Canucks hope Linden can bring a winning culture back to a team that has struggled with consistency in recent seasons.

“I’ve always believed in this team, this city, and this organization,” Linden said in a press conference. “This opportunity is about passion, accountability, and building something sustainable for the future.”

Known for his gritty playing style and clutch performances, Linden spent 16 of his 19 NHL seasons with Vancouver, captaining the team through some of its most memorable moments, including the 1994 Stanley Cup Final run.

General Manager Patrik Allvin called the hire “a bold step toward reigniting the Canucks identity.”

Linden is expected to lead the team into training camp later this summer with a fresh vision and renewed determination.
