‘I think I’m getting used to it’: Egan all smiles after maiden try….
Warriors young gun Luke Egan couldn’t wipe the smile off his face after scoring his first NRL try in the side’s gritty 20-14 win over the Sharks on Saturday night.

The 20-year-old five-eighth, thrust into the starting role due to injuries, crossed in the 28th minute, slicing through Cronulla’s edge defence off a well-timed short ball from Shaun Johnson.
“I think I’m getting used to it now,” Egan laughed post-match. “The pace, the pressure — it’s a different level, but moments like that make it all worth it.”
It was a confidence-boosting moment for the former Junior Kiwi, who only debuted earlier this season but has been praised for his composure and rapid development.
Coach Andrew Webster was glowing in his assessment: “He’s tough, smart, and getting better every week. That try was just reward for the effort he’s been putting in behind the scenes.”
Egan’s teammates mobbed him in celebration, a sign of the tight-knit culture at the Warriors.
With his confidence soaring and combinations forming, Egan looks set to retain his spot in the halves as the Warriors continue their push for a top-eight finish.
“This club’s backing me,” he said. “I just want to repay that trust every week.”
