North Carolina Caleb Wilson will be out indefinitely after suffering a broken bone in his forearm, leaving the Tar Heels without one of their top forward…..

North Carolina forward Caleb Wilson, one of the Tar Heels’ top players this season, suffered an injury to his left hand/wrist in Tuesday’s 75–66 loss at Miami. The prized freshman exited early in the second half after signaling discomfort in his left hand and spent time being evaluated by UNC’s training staff before returning later in the game with a heavily taped wrist. Wilson finished with a season-low 12 points, well below his usual scoring impact for the No. 11 Tar Heels.

Wilson has been the backbone of North Carolina’s offense in 2025-26, averaging close to 20 points and nearly 10 rebounds per game while leading the team in multiple statistical categories. The extent of his injury and the timeline for recovery remain unclear; after the game head coach Hubert Davis downplayed the concern, saying there was “no situation” regarding the injury when asked about Wilson’s status.

This development leaves the Tar Heels without a full gauge on the availability of one of their top forwards going forward, creating uncertainty for their remaining ACC schedule and postseason hopes. Teams will be watching closely for official updates from UNC’s medical staff.
